SURVEY: Open Data in Materials Science

The data curation team based at The Royce Hub at the University of Manchester are investigating researcher perception of open data practices.

In light of UKRI’s recent mandate that all publicly funded research data should be made publicly available in a timely manner with minimal constraints, data@royce would benefit from researcher input in determining attitudes towards this change and how it would affect research practices going forward.

We are also interested in hearing about your experiences with open publication of data, which platforms and tools you are familiar with using and any issues you have encountered along the way

If you are a researcher or PhD student in the field of materials engineering, we are interested in getting your feedback.

Specifically, we want to hear if you are familiar with UKRI guidelines, if you are willing to adhere to them, and details of any potential barriers that may prevent you from sharing data.

We invite you to complete a Five-Minute Anonymous Survey designed to collect your experiences with, perception of, and any concerns about open publication of data.
