The Henry Royce Institute is inviting businesses of all sizes and approved public research organisations to collaborate on exciting projects with a focus on technology translation.
Universities, research and technology organisations and companies can apply for funding up to total project costs of £125,000 Royce Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP), for exploring collaborative and innovative ideas.
Scope
We are looking to fund short-term, collaborative, business-led RD&I projects which should focus on supporting new products, processes or services that represent a step change over those currently available, or propose an innovative use of existing products or processes.
This year’s ICP will focus on projects around the themes of:
Eligibility
Consortia need to include at least one academic or research and technology organisation and at least one company of any size.
Academic organisations and research and technology organisations undertaking non-economic activity can obtain the following funding:
Companies can claim a grant equal to a percentage of their total project costs according to the company size and research classification:

Fundamental research projects are ineligible for funding.
Timeline
Projects are expected to start from 1 October 2023, with all Royce-funded project expenditure completed by 29th February 2024.
Applications will open on Monday 15 May and close on Friday 30 June 2023 at 17.00. A Briefing session will be held on Monday 22 May.
