Registration for Henry Royce Institute Conference 2025 Now Open

Registration for the Henry Royce Institute Conference 2025 is now open!

Join us on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th September for our flagship stakeholder conference at The Nancy Rothwell Building (MECD), University of Manchester.

Titled “Unlocking UK Economic Growth Through Materials Innovation”, this year’s event is focused on the themes and challenges raised in the Royce-led National Materials Innovation Strategy.

Agenda Summary

Day 1

The first day will include thought-provoking plenary talks, leading into areas coming from the National Materials Innovation Strategy and the Industrial Strategy.  This will include underpinning challenges in materials innovation – Sustainability/Life Cycle Assessment, Materials 4.0 and Scale-Up. We’ll also focus on take-aways from major Royce translational programmes including the Royce Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP) and Centre for Expertise in Advanced Materials (CEAMS), Foundation Industry Sustainability Consortium (FISC) as well as investment vehicles including the Royce Hydrogen Accelerator and MatCelerate Zero.

Dinner

Start the evening with a welcome at our drinks reception, which will begin at 6:30 pm in the stylish Christies where you can mingle with fellow guests in a relaxed atmosphere.

After the reception, we will move to the adjoining elegant Whitworth Hall for a memorable dinner.

Day 2

On day two we’ll start the morning with an introduction from our Chief Scientific Officer, and a keynote plenary.

The rest of the day will be split out into a programme of wide-ranging scientific breakouts featuring expert speakers and framed around the science related to the Royce-led Research Areas and its translation in context of National Material Innovation Strategy’s core themes.

Delegates can freely move between these areas, but we do ask that you select a primary breakout whether for the full day or by selecting your preferred morning and afternoon sessions, to support logistical arrangements.

Day 2 Session times and outlines are below:

  • Full session: 11 – 4pm
  • Morning session: 11 – 1pm

Full details on breakout themes can be found on this page, and by selecting “Day 2”
