Polly Greensmith Announced as New Principal Investigator for NTPMI

Royce is delighted to announce the appointment of Polly Greensmith as Principal Investigator for the National Technical Platform for Materials Innovation (NTPMI).

Polly is Head of Operations at the National Graphene Institute, based at the University of Manchester and close to the Royce Hub Building. She has a wealth of experience in materials science at the University both as a laboratory technician and manager, making her perfectly suited to lead NTPMI, taking over from Royce’s former Chief Technology Officer, Tony Horner.

NTPMI’s overall aim is to empower Research Technical Professionals (RTPs) across the UK’s materials innovation community, providing access to training and events, and the opportunity to share expertise and develop best practice.

Commenting on her appointment, Polly said:

“I’m truly honoured to contribute to this initiative, which champions technical professionals in materials innovation. I’m keen to collaborate with an incredible team to drive technician development, foster innovation, and create opportunities for technical professionals.

Let’s break barriers and inspire the next generation of technical leaders!”

NTPMI, led by Royce and funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), is a 4 year project which delivers training, development, professional networking, and secondment opportunities for RTPs.
