Dr Laura Cohen MBE CEng FIMMM will deliver a talk to provide Postgraduate Researchers with information on careers in materials science and provide insight into the industry’s current challenges. Dr Cohen will also answer careers questions from event attendees.
The event will be held in-person on 18th May 2022 from 15:00-16:00 at the University of Manchester in the Renold Building C16. All postgraduate students are welcome to attend, and RSVPs can be made through Eventbrite. The talk is free to attend.
The event is hoped to give postgraduate researchers an insight into the current state of industry and provide a platform to ask careers questions.
About the Speaker
Dr Laura Cohen MBE CEng FIMMM is a Visiting Professor in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Manchester and the Henry Royce Institute.
From 2009 until 2022 Dr Laura Cohen was chief executive of the British Ceramic Confederation, the trade association for the UK ceramic manufacturing industry.
Laura, who has worked in manufacturing for more than 30 years, was awarded an MBE in 2015 in recognition of her services to the ceramics industry.
She is also an associate of Newnham College, Cambridge and a life member of the Council of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.
