This webinar will provide an overview of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in developing national capability in Materials 4.0, with the Henry Royce Institute. The first cohort of CDT PhD students starts in September 2024.
We are seeking broad engagement in Materials 4.0 research activity on the CDT from academics and external representatives in training activities and in sponsorship for projects for future student cohorts. Join us to hear about the CDT, its activities and the scope of research undertaken in Materials 4.0 via talks from academic supervisors and external sponsors, as well as routes for engagement with the CDT.
Materials 4.0 is the digital materials revolution which will accelerate the discovery, innovation, and validation of new materials. It will maximise the value of materials data and link the digital and physical via cyber-physical systems for prediction, classification, and control of material performance. It will provide capability and know-how to enable the UK to respond quickly in the cross-sector adoption of a materials informatics framework, combining capabilities from risk management, materials modelling, AI/machine learning, manufacturing informatics, and life-cycle simulation
