Royce Training: An Introduction to Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (EDS)

This course will provide an introduction to energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analysis for alloys at the Royce Hub Building in Manchester.

The content will introduce the concepts for the generation of X-rays for alloy analysis and EDS techniques on bulk samples. Participants will cover experimental produres, quantification methods, sample preparation and analysis artefacts. The course aims to develop understanding and guidance for practical experimentation to ensure the collection of high-quality EDS data.

The 2025 Spring Meeting of the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) organized with the Foundation Jean-Marie Lehn will be held at the Convention & Exhibition Centre of Strasbourg (France), from May 26 to 30, 2025.
