We have two unique windowed autoclaves that allow researchers to perform in situ digital image correlation (DIC) and surface oxide Raman spectroscopy examination in real time via a transparent sapphire window and while a sample is being loading by four-point bending. Our research focuses on improving the mechanistic understanding of early-stage environmentally assisted cracking and the characterisation of corrosion behaviour in light water reactor environments.
