Joven specializes in comprehending the interactions between materials, coolants, and breeders, particularly in environments exposed to energetic ionizing radiation. He holds positions as a steering/committee member in several scientific and expert groups, focusing specifically on corrosion in nuclear environments and the characterization of radiation-induced damage. He is the Principal Investigator for the micro-breeder blanket project at the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), and he leads research efforts in the corrosion technical field within both UKAEA and the UK STEP program.
