The finalists have now been selected for IOM3’s Young Persons’ Lecture Competition, of which Royce is a key sponsor.
Organised by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3), sponsored by The Armourers & Brasiers’ Company, Royce and Lucideon, the Young Persons’ Lecture Competition invites students and early career professionals (between ages 18 to 28) to deliver a short lecture (12 to 15 mins) on a materials, minerals, mining, packaging, clay technology, wood science or engineering related subject.
IOM3’s Local Societies organised and held local heats and regional finals, whose winners will compete at the 2025 Young Persons’ Lecture Competition UK at The Armourers Hall on 8 May at 17:00.
The nominees are:
- Hamish Dow, Scotland
- Sethupathi Rangaraj, North West & North Wales
- Samual Ngombe, South West & South Wales
- Amélia Tortell Milhano, Midlands
- Emma Bryan, South East
- Ethan Ellis, North East
The winner of the competition receives a £750 cash prize & The Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers medal, invitation to deliver their talk and tour the Henry Royce Institute Laboratories. 2nd and 3rd place receives a £400 and £200 cash prize respectively.
