Detailed Description
It can be used with a range of sampling accessories:
⇒ Diamond ATR (with an optional heated top plate ranging from room temperature to 300 °C)
→ Suitable for a wide range of materials with a wide accessible spectral range 45000cm-1 to 10 cm-1 with penetration depth of 1.66 um.
⇒ Germanium ATR
→ Suitable for dark materials but more focused on material surface (0.65 um) with accessible spectral range of 5000 cm-1 to 600 cm-1
⇒ Transmittance
→ Measuring IR transmittance through the whole depth of the sample but may require more extensive sample preparation:
-
Film press – Achieves temperatures up to 260 °C to produce small films between 15-500um thick.
-
KBr press – Achieves a compacted disc of powder samples in a matrix of KBr.
The Bruker FTIR can be used with one of its two detectors:
⇒ DTGS detector – Room temperature thermal detector ( x-axis of 4000 cm-1 to 400 cm-1)
⇒ MCT detector – Cryogenic quantum detector with higher sensitivity and faster scanning, suitable for monitoring kinetics and resolving small peaks ( x-axis of 4000 cm-1 to 420 cm-1)
The following libraries can be used for sample detection on this instrument:
⇒ B-KIMW – Bruker ATR-IR Polymers, Plastics and Additives Library
⇒ I26929 – BRUKER Filler Library
⇒ 1025055 – Bruker ATR-FTIR Polymer Library (ATR-LIB-POLYMERS)
⇒ BRUKER_ATR-Library of Plastics
