Since 2019, Royce has supported the Wilbe “Bootcamp for Scientist Founders” (BSF) programme, which has provided support, advice, encouragement, and training to PhD and post-doctoral scientists beginning their startup journey. Ahead of the holidays Royce is highlighting a chance to get an early present!
The start of a new year is often a chance to start a new career or consider your next steps. Earlier this year Wilbe launched their Sandbox platform – exclusive to scientists – that provides a free-to-access resource for researchers looking at moving to or setting up a startup company. It provides a great resource, especially if you’re interested in the world of startups beyond the lab. The platform offers three main resources:
- Basics of startups for scientists – short videos recorded by company founders and startup operators talking about what it’s really like to run or work in a startup
- Jobs in startups for scientists – a job board with only roles that are from science-based startups
- Entrepreneurial scientists – a global community of scientists across disciplines interested in startups. Wilbe have trained 300 scientists, 80 of whom are founders
They also have a monthly newsletter covering topics relevant for scientists interested in the world of startups (e.g. setting up the infrastructure, IP matters, fundraising, business models and so on), and also run a startup bootcamp for those already building.
Sign up to the newsletter and learn more before the end of December to unwrap one of a limited 50 spots for access to the platform. If you sign up in January, you will be able to access one of 150 spots.
