Andrew Cairns
Research Fellow

Andrew is a Departmental Research Fellow in the Department of Materials investigating unusual and extreme mechanical properties of coordination polymers. His work mainly uses variable-temperature and high-pressure powder and single crystal diffraction, in particular using diamond-anvil cells (DACs) and synchrotron radiation. In 2016 Andrew was named ESRF “Young Scientist of the Year”.
